Cumra Sugar Factory
The factory, which was completed in 2004 and its foundation were laid in 2003, was financed completely with equity capital and is among the most modern facilities in the sugar sector in the world. The facility, which can obtain its raw materials from an area with a radius of 20 km., is the largest sugar factory in Turkey.
Cumra Sugar Integrated Facilities was completed in a short time as one year, as a result of extraordinary efforts, work, collaboration and performance of producers, managers and employees of Konya Seker. The opening ceremony of the facility was made with the participation of Prime Minister of the period, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, high ranking government officials and more than 50 thousand people on 24 September 2004.
Beet processing capacity of Cumra Seker Factory, founded on 2 million 600 thousand m2 area on 5th degree agricultural land, is 17 thousand tons per day. All the machinery and equipment have been selected from the state of the art technology products from Europe at our facilities, founded in Cumra, where highest quality of beet is grown due to suitability of its climate in Turkey, which is sugar beet heaven.
Konya seker’s sugar production increased from 213.000 tons per year to 435.500 tons per year and total sugar beet quota of the producers of the region increased from 1.617.000 million tons per year to 3.320.000 tons per year.
